Advanced Learner Loans provide government-backed financial support for individuals aged 19+ undertaking eligible Level 3 to Level 6 qualifications. These loans are administered through the Student Loans Company and function similarly to higher education loans.

Learners do not pay upfront costs. Repayments are income-contingent and only begin once earnings exceed the repayment threshold. This makes higher-level professional qualifications accessible without immediate financial pressure.

For employers, Advanced Learner Loans offer a flexible option where apprenticeship or grant funding is not available. For individuals, they provide a clear route to invest in professional development and career progression with manageable repayment terms.

Receive a £1,000 incentive when you recruit an apprentice aged 16–18, or 19–24 with an EHCP or care leaver status.

NI Contribution Exemption

Employers are exempt from paying National Insurance Contributions for apprentices under 25, provided they earn under the Upper Secondary Threshold.

95–100% Funded Training

Training costs are typically 95–100% government funded for non-levy paying employers — making apprenticeships significantly more cost-effective than traditional recruitment.
